As part of my tango wisdom I feel it is extremely important to open a Chanel of letting the amazingly rich tango music penetrate through the ears and right into the heart waking up the senses and letting us express feelings when we dance.

In order to acheive this goal first step is developping knowhow and awarness, paying more attention to the music.

Therefore I have decided to propose a little incentive in order to awake in you more awareness and knowledge of this precious music you dance.

As you all know The tango music has a rich history. The instruments (usually bandoneon, violin, piano and double bass) are talking to each other and telling a story even when there are no letters and singer singing the letters.

The rules of the quiz

The first quiz will be held along the month of January and will be quite an easy one. During my group classes I will spontaneously play a tune and will ask you to recognize the orchestra.

The first one who say a correct answer wins.

You need to accumulate 5 wins along the month in order to get the prize - one hour of private lesson with me.

The quiz is going to take place only during my group sessions and workshops I run in London (not in classes before the Milonga)

If you are interested to prepare for the quiz and increase your chances to win I suggest you to just open your ears and start to ask around - for instance ask the dj in the Milonga after dancing a tanda you liked. Of course you can always ask me for an advice or information.

Rachel started dancing when she was 6 years old. 12 years of ballet and contemporary were the foundation for all that followed.

In 1991 she started Latin and ballroom studies, received the IDTA diploma (international dance teachers association) and competed in international dance competitions such as the prestigious Blackpool congress in England.

In 1998 she discovered and was sweapt away by the Argentinean tango. Her most marking maestros are Carlos Gavito, Osvaldo Zotto & Lorena Ermocida , Roberto Herrera, Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne, Javier Rodriguez & Geraldine Rojas, Nito & Elba, Vanina Bilous.

From 2003 she is living in Buenos Aires where she is teaching and performing.

Her personal style is the outcome of fusion between traditional tango and modern tendencies, having studied working and dancing with milongueros, great masters of the traditional style and the leaders of “new age” tango.

Elegance, grace, musicality and aesthetics within the embrace - the soul of tango, are her guidelines.

Coming from different dance diciplines made her both a good social dancer and a perfromer, incorporating her knowledge and experience into her dance and teaching, being able to analyze body movements and musicality. Her teaching experience extend over 18 years first ballroom and Latin American dances than Argentinean Tango.

Rachel has performed as Tango dancer in numerous theatres with Israeli Philharmonic orchestra musicians, in"Tango magic" show and with Pitango quartet

She also performed in Buenos Aires Milongas Club Gricel, Maipu 444, la Viruta. Some of the performances with well known milongueros like Hector Chidichimo, el pibe Avellaneda.

Since 2005 she is giving workshops and performs in Europe and also honoured to teach with Pablo Veron from times to times.

She has been managing Tangox2 company by Miguel Angel Zotto for 3 years and represent and promote other tango productions worlwide.
